CREATIVE COMMONS

The final project for a Master of Architecture at the University of Oregon. Creative Commons is a performance arts facility in Dalston, England. In an emerging arts area in a plural and up-and-coming portion of North London, a flexible performance space with a passive media architecture allows transmission and dissemination of creative works produced on-site by resident artists.

All-Options

The re-configuration of facade elements, based on daylight conditions and internal performance needs, are described as 4 inter-changing options with icons in a matrix on a Microsoft Surface Facade Options

When you select an option, the widescreen displays one of 4 looped videos showing the facade in motion.

PHYSICAL MULTIMEDIA CONFIGURATION WITH POSTERS

Additionally, varying the scenario on the touchscreen also automates servos in a 1:1 scale model, lighting a physical mockup of the human experience of a dynamic media facade.  This is accomplished with serial communication, micro-servos connected via custom gearing to 3d printed model rotors, and a Arduino micro-controller with RGB LEDs.
